as the pale moonlight
fell gently on the lake
in the late midnight
the maiden sang her song of love and hate

Followed by tears
that fell on the ground
she grieved for the lost one
with noone around

The silence was deadly
broken only by her song
still she waited to hear someone call

But the forest around her
stood silent and still
no sounds allowed
to come or go in

So she turned to the lake
with despair on her eyes
asking for someone to
answer her cries

"Why did he leave me
and where did he go?
Answer,oh forest,Oh lake
I know,you know so..."

And she stood there,crying
for three days and three nights,
asking for answers
for the lost love of her life

And on the third night,
when the moon was full
the lake and forest,
in front of her stood

The oldest tree of the forest
and the cold lady of the lake
looked at her,saddly
for the request she had made...

"Do you really want answers?
You're really too young
And truth hurts more
than losing your love"

They spoke together
looking at her red eyes
but she just smiled and nodded
taking and risking her last chance's dice

"Very well" said the lady
with her icy sweet voice
"You cannot go back now
that you've made your choice"

"I will not waste
your time,oh young one,
I will now tell you
about your loved one..."

"He entered my forest
five days ago,searching
and looking for something
I didn't know...

I appeared to him
like I did to you,
and offered my help
for his heart was too true...

He asked if I knew
where was the sword
hidden inside me
centuries ago...

So I told him
the truth
so I told him
it's there
where the brave ones go
and they die,that's where

But he had no fear
and he asked me again,
so I told him
as I would tell a true friend

The sword lies
In the dragon's lair
where only one can enter
if their cause is true fair...

And he answered I want it
to fight for my love
to fight for justice
and to fight what is wrong

So I took him in the dragon's lair
and he trully did enter
for his cause was true fair

And he stayed in there
for a whole day and a night
and when he came out
in his eyes was a light

"I have slayn the dragon
and have taken the sword
and now I can go
to fight what is wrong"

and so the brave one
left these lands
with the sword of power
safe in his hands

Then the forest was silenced
and looked at the girl
who had started crying
all over again...

"And then he came to me"
said the lake
"To ask for my blessing and
the shiled that won't break

And I told him that
to take either of those
I will have to test
your courage and cause...

But again through my trials
he succeded y far
and I gave him my blessing and
the shield of ka'Nar"

Then the lady stopped talking
and silence fell again
as the cries of the maiden
were the only sound heard...

"And why did you let him?
And why did he leave?
Did he not think of love?
Did he not think of me?"

So the maiden let her tears
fall and touch the round
and a black rose grew
as the lake and the forest dissapeared around...

and thus ends the story of Cane the brave
and his love Jennifer
who waited for him
to this very day....
